“Automobiles dominated my interests ever since I can remember myself. My father’s cars, were the first getaway to my passion for driving, not always with his approval. In 1977, when my first child was born, I decided that I had completed the first cycle of my participation in competitions, so I turned to the collection of old cars.”

Theodore N. Charagionis
Founder of Hellenic Motor Museum

Housing a rotating selection from the about 300-car collection (currently 112 cars) of its founder, the Hellenic motor museum is situated in central Athens near the National Archaeological Museum. The museum offers many other facilities such as a Formula-1 Simulator, a road safety educational programme.

Following the course of the spiral ramp, visitors discover the history of the wheel, with exhibits dating from 300 BC to the end of the 20th century, while historic models from companies such as Aston Martin, Bristol, Bentley, Jaguar, Avion Voisin, Delage, American La France, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maseratti, Lancia, Auto Union etc. can be admired on the museum’s 3 floors.

The Hellenic Motor Museum also hosts a museum shop, where someone can find memorabilia objects, old posters, DVDs of historic races and cars, miniature cars, as well as everyday use objects.

If you plan to visit Athens by cruise ship you can have a guided shore excursion tour to the Hellenic Motor Museum , with plenty of time to discover interesting aspects of the Museum and Athens itself and get back to Piraeus port on time.

Before visiting, you can also pay a visit to the official website of the museum www.hellenicmotormuseum.gr
