This wonderful tour starts of from the port of Heraklion and an interesting and educational guided tour through the extraordinary Archeological Museum in Heraklion, viewing the unique items from the Minoan culture. You will then enter the motorcoach, take a drive of approximately 1 hour to arrive in Knossos. During this tour you will be taken back 4.000 years to the time of the oldest civilization in Europe. The Minoan Palace of Knossos, centre of the Minoan Civilization, will leave you breathless as you wonder over the technology and facilities of that period.
Take a drive to Archanes Village where you will enjoy a delicious light Greek meal and relax in one of the local restaurants.
Continue your tour with a visit of the Open Air Museum Lychnostatis offering an insight into the authentic Cretan life. In a guided tour through the compound of Lychnostatis, visitors will marvel the Cretan architecture, a restored wind mill, a trashing floor and work shops of weaving, ceramics, fragrance distillery and plant dyeing wool activities. A stroll through the garden will allow you to view the fruit trees, brightly colored flowers and aromatic herbs.
After visiting the museum site, re-board the coach to travel to Dicti Mountain and the Lassithi Plateau (850m). Visit Kera Kardiotissa Nunnery, a 14th century Monastery housing late Byzantine frescoes.
You will then drive back to the port to embark the ship for departure.
