Let yourselves be bewildered by the breathtaking beauty of Meteora

We depart from the port of Preveza early in the morning. We shall arrive in Metsovo, where we shall have some free time for a coffee or a soft drink. We continue our program and we reach Meteora. We shall visit 2 Monasteries, Varlaam and Aghios Stefanos .

The Meteora monasteries rise at the centre of Greece, where Penios river emerges from the deep canyons of the Pindos range and surges into the Thessalian plain. These are rocks that have been etched by the time into a variety of shapes. Grey stalagmites rising towards the sky, they appear as a nature’s gift to the pious, who, driven by faith, have been opted for a solitude and a life of worship. The Monasteries with their wooden galleries and corniced rooftops, crown the summits of these formidable pinnacles. At the slopes of the rocks enjoy a delicious meal.

After lunch drive to Ioannina, the capital of the district of Epirus. A short stop of about 30’ will be given to walk around, discover the city & take some pictures of the beautiful lake of Ioannina.  Then re-embark you bus and enjoy a scenic drive back to the port of Preveza.
