Glimpse into Bulgarian Village life with lunch

Depart Nesebur by motorcoach and drive to the beautiful green slopes of the Balkan Mountains where Bulgaria holds the key to one of the most ancient secrets - the yoghurt recipe. Take in the beautiful scenery while your coach passes through quaint villages and peaceful pastures.

Reach the village of Erketch where telephone lines are still a rare luxury and the postman is not a frequent visitor. Let your local hosts demonstrate the rattling mechanism of the wool-carding machine, an age-old tool much in demand by local shepherd families. Next, make a stop at a local restaurant, where from the orderly line of earthenware pots, you may take a spoonful of tasty, fresh yoghurt. Sample warm, home made bread with some fresh honey in the yard of the restaurant, where a magnificent view is offered of the vast valleys at the foot of the hills. Here you can try to dance Bulgarian “horo” under the directions of the folklore dancers who will first demonstrate you what they can.

Lunch consisting of the most famous traditional Bulgarian dishes accompanied by locally-produced wine is served. After lunch, it is time to return to Nesebur, and you may opt to walk directly back to the pier, or remain in town for further exploration and return to the ship on your own.
